The first use downloads the AI model and its runtime. Precision mode downloads approximately 99 MB on compatible graphics hardware or 192 MB on CPU, plus the runtime. Fast portrait mode uses a much smaller model. Your browser caches these files when storage allows, speeding up future visits.
Precision mode uses BiRefNet Lite for people, products, pets, and other foreground subjects. Fast portrait mode uses MODNet and is designed for people. Clear subjects work best. Fine hair, glass, and busy scenes may need the erase and restore tools. Results can vary.
Use a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari browser. WebGPU can accelerate supported devices; otherwise processing uses WebAssembly. Precision mode needs more memory and can be slow on phones. Fast portrait mode is a lighter option for people. JPG, PNG, and WebP images up to 25 MB and 24 megapixels are supported.
